NC Choices
The support and donations for farmers affected by Hurricane Helene has been remarkably generous. The ag community continues to show up for their neighbors and it is greatly appreciated. The majority of the counties in Western North Carolina are entering a recovery phase after this storm damage and the number and severity of livestock related emergencies have declined significantly. However, because of the extensive loss of hay and pasture land, donations of hay are still being accepted. Several locations throughout the region are receiving hay donations and will distribute out to producers in their area. These centers are supported by NC State, NC Cooperative Extension and NCDA&CS.
If you have hay to donate and are able to transport the hay to a distribution or storage center, please click here to schedule your delivery. You do not need to enter any information into this form, if you plan to deliver.
If you previously entered your donation into this form and did not have transportation but have not been contacted yet, we will be in touch soon. Please continue to check the NCDA Disaster site for livestock updates https://www.ncagr.gov/
You can also find resources from the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) and NC Choices for farmers and other community members impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western NC here. Thank you again for your generous support!
